Del Verde Falls (in Borrello)
They are in Borrello, in the middle course
of the Sangro river, at about 800 metres
above sea level, in an unpolluted and
beautiful mountain district.
The Rio Verde river, which has its source
in Quarto, at the boundary between Abruzzo
and Molise, flows through a deep valley
up to Borrello.
Before flowing into the Sangro river,
it forms the highest natural falls in
the Apennines.
The falls, fed by perpetual water whose
flow varies all year round, stretch above
a wide rock face for more than 200 metres.
