The Castle of Bominaco - ITALY
The Castle was probably built in the XIII
century in order to defend the Monastery
of Momenaco and the inhabitants of the
village.
The present watch-tower dates back to
the XV century and it was built by the
Fioravanti family, counts of Forfona.
They were given the patronate by Pope
Martino V, since they contributed to defeat
Fortebraccio in the battle of 1424, thus
keeping the Church safe from the invasion.
