The National Park Gran Sasso-Laga
The main structure is formed by a long
ridge stretching from the Passo delle
Campanelle to Vado Siella.
Below the northern face of the Corno Grande
(2,912 mts) there is the Calderone, the
only glecier of the Apennine and the most
southern of Europe. The Park's fauna is
rather veried and is rapresented by uncommon
species, such as the Apennine wolf, the
chamois and foxes.
